A Bad Boy Can be Good for a Girl by Tanya Lee Stone

02 Oct

Written in prose form, this easy to read novel is written from the perspective of three different teenage girls in different grades in the same high school. Each is full of confidence and intelligent but all three fall for the same guy that plays them. Watching their love grow into anguish is tough, but in the end, the reader and all three girls come to learn more about themselves and who they will become as adults.

While the prose from may set some readers off at first, it is very easy to get into the groove. I was pleasantly surprised. The characters are developed only in one aspect of their lives; you do not really get a glimpse of anything but their love life. Each girl’s story is easily contained and makes the novel easy for short attention spans. 2006, 228 pages.

A 2007 nominee for ALA’s Best Books for Young Adults.
