Skipping Christmas by John Grisham

01 Oct

Luther and Nora Krank live in an affluent neighborhood where Christmas is a holiday that costs over $6000 a year. When their daughter, Blair, joins the Peace Corps and heads to Peru over Christmas, they decide to skip Christmas and take a cruise. They fight off the trees, the parties, the street decorations and the peer pressure of their neighbors and friends until December 24th-when Blair says she is on her way home.

A quick holiday read that most could relate to. Descriptive of the stress and chaos that comes standard with the season. Tear jerker ending with community feel. 2001, 177 pages.
