Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier

01 Oct

Inman is a confederate soldier who tires of the war and all it represents. He deserts and heads back to Cold Mountain, North Carolina-his home and back to his love Ada. Ada, struggles to beat her depression from the death of her father. With the help of Ruby, a poor local that needs a place to stay, they manage to run the home and farm. Full of adventure on both ends.

A very descriptive novel with a lot of detail. There are mystical elements that some might miss. Be prepared for the sad ending, this is not the romance that the press is making out to be. 1997, 449 pages.
