Benjamin Weaver, ex-boxer, is a man who helps gentlemen recover materials stolen or persons that have gone missing. He has a reputation for honesty and integrity. When he is encouraged to search out the truth about his father’s death-he finds himself surrounded by deceit, danger and delusion in addition to a city that is full of the same everyday in 1719 England. Changes are running rampant and to the end, Benjamin knows not who he can trust.

A historical mystery that is set in a time-period that is not written about much. The topic is relevant to today as well as an intriguing look at a different world. Lots of detail and character development that will appeal to the reader looking for an intelligent mystery. 2000, 442 pages.
