A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton

Kinsey Millhone is a P.I. who lives a life that is her life. Twice married, twice divorced, she is hired to look into the death of Laurence Fife by his wife that just did time for his murder. That he was a SOB of great proportions pales in comparison to the web of characters that get involved in Kinsey’s investigation. Could the real killer be so close that Kinsey misses them in the end?

Short, quick, and exciting plot. The characters are tough and hard boiled-no fluff here. Good suspense. 1981, 207 pages.
