Shopaholic and Baby by Sophie Kinsella

19 Sep

As a non-recovering Shopaholic Becky Bloomwood is pregnant with her first child.  Rather then worrying about being a mother or focusing on the practical realities of motherhood, Becky is all about the shopping! Nothing practical here-no breast pumps or diaper doos unless they are designer and cute as the dickens! Instead Becky ends up with countless prams a celebrity gynecologist and an article about her in Vogue. Naturally, her husband Luke provides the balancing tension in the story with a rocky business relationship and a possible affair that has Becky facing a life as a single mother.

Fans of the Shopaholic series will not be disappointed with Becky’s personality and outrageous antics. The one thing missing is the serious financial troubles Becky gets into with her shopping habits.  Now married to successful businessman Luke,  Becky now lives in a world of high society that readers are unused to.  A quick read that can easily be devoured in one setting, readers are now left to figure out what future tomes will hold.  2007, 368 pages.
