Liner Notes by Emily Franklin

Laney has planned the mother of all cross-country moves/road trips.  She intends to visit the past by listening to her old “mix” tapes from her youth.  Annie, her mother, surprises her with a request to travel across country with her in hopes to know more about her daughter.  Eventually, the barriers break down and Laney shares her tapes and her life with her mom.

A trip down memory lane for children of the 80’s.  Some character development but the plot can drag.   Appealing to those who may be struggling with truly knowing their parents. 2003, 303 pages
